Most ED Card applications go smoothly – but when they don’t, this guide has your solutions. From missing emails to payment failures, here are the fixes.
No Confirmation Email
Steps to fix:
- Check spam/junk/promotions folder
- Search for emails from @dga.aw or @aruba.aw domains
- Log into portal at edcardaruba.aw – check “My Applications” status
- If approved but no email: request resend from portal
- After 24 hours: contact migracion.aruba@dga.aw
Peak season (December-January) can cause 24-hour delays. See normal processing times.
Application Rejected
Common causes:
- Data mismatch with passport – resubmit with exact passport data
- Expired passport – renew and resubmit
- Payment failed – try different card
- Technical error – wait 30 min and retry
Read the rejection email carefully – it should specify the reason.
Wrong Name or Passport Details
- Check portal for editing options (possible before approval)
- If approved: email migracion.aruba@dga.aw with application reference, correction details, and passport photo
- Do this at least 3 days before travel
Payment/Sustainability Fee Error
- Try a different card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex)
- Contact bank to authorize international USD transaction
- Try incognito browser mode / different browser
- For double charges: contact support with both receipts
Fee details: Sustainability Fee page.
Airline Cannot Verify ED Card
- Show confirmation email directly to check-in agent
- Show application status in portal login
- Ask agent to escalate to supervisor
An approved ED Card with email confirmation is legally sufficient for boarding.
Portal Not Loading
- Try different device or network
- Clear browser cache/cookies
- Disable VPN
- Try Chrome or Firefox
- Try at different time of day (possible maintenance)
